Re: Best of Sa: In Search of the Goddess
Sat, November 14, 2009 - 8:31 AMROFL .. Forgive me- this is an Amusing article trying to conflate feminism and the Goddess. The author may know feminism, but is no expert on the Goddess.. The Goddess is not bound by anything- let alone her devotees. The author also makes the error of taking the idol in the temple to be the Goddess.
Let me not even start on the modern pursuit of individualism- which is antithetical to the kind of freedom the Goddess gives. The part about 'unfettered female energy' is again anthropomorphisation. To give an example Hiranyagarbha or Golden Womb refers to Brahma. He is 'masculine' . When we identify ourselves with a particular sex, family, country, religion etc it is not useful to those on the path. It also makes us get into negative loops by performing the wrong type of karma.
